1. Disclaimer
I received the Jiu-Jitsu rash guard for review free of charge, but we will do so in an unbiased and honest manner. So let’s decide whether they are worth buying.
2. How Do Our Gear Reviews Work?
I don't do a full review of any Jiu-Jitsu gear until I have really used the thing. This means that I am going to spar and roll in it. I am going to do some weight training and circuit training in it, wash it a few times to see if it shrinks, and then give you a complete review.
3. Key Features of Elite Sports Rash Guards: Are They High Quality?

Before reading the review, you should know what makes a rash guard high-quality. The key features are given below:
- A material thick enough to prevent pilling.
- Fabric blend of polyester and spandex.
- Does not shrink after washing.
- Flatlock stitching.
- Rubber waistband.
- Ink is dyed into the fabric for printing, preventing cracking or peeling over the long term.
Now, let’s see whether Elite Sports rash guards have all the above features.
- The rash guards are made of high-compression fabric. This compression improves your blood flow and muscle recovery, helping with your grappling.
- It is a blend of 13% spandex and 87% polyester.
- It is lightweight yet sturdy, with moisture-wicking technology to absorb sweat during grappling.
- It features flatlock stitching to reduce wear and tear and anti-slip rubber waistbands.
You can check all these features on their website under rash guards. So you can see they meet all the requirements for a high-quality rash guard.
4. My First Impression After Receiving Elite Sports Rash Guards
My first thoughts after receiving elite sports rash guards are given below:
- The rashgard has thicker ridges at the bottom. I believe that will help it stay in place while you're wearing it.
- The logo looks like embroidered, which again is better and does not peel or crack over time.
- This stuff is significantly more substantial (like thicker). I have dealt with bargain-style equipment before. That was always really thin and a very poor first impression.
- The stuff is better than I expected, given the prices on their website.
- So initially, it feels pretty good.
- The only issue some might have at first glance is with the small white desiccant balls. These are used to absorb moisture and protect the product from contamination. Some people believe them to be very poisonous and harmful to even touch. But these are just myths, and you do not have to worry about them. For care, use gloves or a rough cloth to handle them, then dispose of them in the bin.
But that is only the first impression after receiving the rash guard package and unboxing it. Now, let’s check how well they can perform after wearing them.
5. My Thoughts After Wearing Elite Sports Rash Guards
My first thoughts after wearing elite sports rash guards are given below:
- It feels pretty good to wear initially.
- No weirdness in the armpits, which is always a concern.
- Fits nice on the neck and there is no discomfort. Sometimes, if they fit too well in one area, they don't fit well enough in the other. But they feel really nice to wear.
- I am wearing a small in both, and the shorts are actually a little snug. Maybe they run a little bit small, but they still fit me.
- The drawstring is actually pretty interesting. It is big, thick, round, and of a higher quality than a shoelace. But some grapplers don't need the drawring so that depends on you.
- We got a mouthguard pocket, which some people use and some don't.
- Most grapplers do not want their bellies showing while wearing a rash guard, and Elite Sports has done a great job with this. Their rash guards cover your belly really well.
- Their hem is much thicker than that of any other rash guard.
- The bottom of the rash guard stays in place when you pull it down. You can feel it grabbing hold of you.
6. Review After Washing Rash Guards Many Times
- I have passed the shorts and the rashguards through a ton of washes. They are holding up pretty well. They do not shrink in size because they are preshrunk.
- I had no issues with threads or pilling.
7. Elite Sports Jiu Jitsu Rash Guards: Final Thoughts
- The Elite Sports Jiu Jitsu rash guards are an awesome option, especially for beginners, thanks to their budget-friendly price.
- If you are looking for an inexpensive option, you should buy them.
- Or maybe you are just starting out and don't want to spend a ton of money on something that's essentially a hobby; their rash guards are a great choice.
- Despite a much lower price, they are delivering great quality.
- They fulfill all requirements of IBJJF.
